I can say that I can change the world, but if you let me I can make another world for us… Posso dire che posso cambiare il mondo, ma se me lo permetti io posso creare un altro mondo per noi… Si intitola Renaissance, anche se la parola non compare mai nel testo, la sigla di testa e di coda nonché pezzo forte della colonna sonora de I Medici, la serie internazionale sulla famiglia più potente della Firenze del 1400 in onda in prima mondiale questa sera, martedì 18 ottobre, alle 21.15 su Rai 1 per 8 puntate, musica di Paolo Buonvino, testo e voce inconfondibile di Skin, al secolo Ann 
Deborah Dyer. Ad eseguirla l’Orchestra Nuova Roma Sinfonietta e il Quintetto Prisca Amori, Paolo Marchi, Lorenzo Rundo, Luca Pincini diretti dallo stesso Paolo Buonvino che è anche produttore artistico e suona pure il pianoforte. Ed è stato proprio il compositore siciliano romano d’adozione, già autore di colonne sonore per film di Muccino, Veronesi, Virzì, Verdone, Faenza e molti altri, nonché autore e arrangiatore di diverse canzoni di Giuliano Sangiorgi, Elisa, Jovanotti, Franco Battiato e Dolores O’Riordan, a pensare alla frontwoman degli Skunk Anansie per completare la sua opera. E a quanto pare tra i due sembra essere nata immediatamente un’alchimia molto forte e in effetti c’è da dire che solo un’intesa artistica così empatica avrebbe potuto portare a un risultato simile. Per Renaissance Buonvino e Skin hanno attinto contemporaneamente dal mondo classico rinascimentale contaminando l’idea con il rock e l’elettronica a simboleggiare quel periodo che era il Rinascimento e a rievocare una cosiddetta rinascita contemporanea. Skin è anche la protagonista de video di Renaissance diretto da Cosimo Alemà e prodotto da Lux Vide e Cam (Gruppo Sugar), dove la vediamo viaggiare tra una scena e l’altra della serie e attraverso i suoi luoghi.
